Austin Bassist Seeks Solid, Dynamic Band

For anyone in the arts & entertainment industry, image is very important; anyone
who doesn't believe that is a liar or a fool. This isn't to say that people should
pretend to be something that they're not, that's posing. What it means to have the
right image is to convey a look that goes along with the attitude of the individual and/or group.

We all present different facets of our personality depending on the situation and we
dress appropriately. If you approach music as a business (the minute you step on stage
and expect to be paid, you've entered the music business), then you should look the part.

That being said, I have no problems conforming to a band's overall look. In a flashy rock
band, you can find me in expensive shirts, boots, and leather pants. In a punk-ish type group,
if the band wants to wear t-shirts, ball caps, and khakis, then I have no probelm with that, either.
On my bike, I wear jeans and a leather jacket, at a formal dinner or a wedding, I wear a suit
and tie. At the lake, I wear sandlas and swim shorts. In a nutshell, I dress for the occasion.

I will never pretend to be something I'm not but I do understand that a successful band
is much more than great music, it's also about a good show and projecting an image, the
image that fits the band and the music, not the other way around.
