“I write these stupid songs. I write these stupid words. And I love everyone!”
-R. Cuomo, 1994
OK, the itch is there and it’s gotta be scratched (or least well-lotioned)! So, I’m startin’ up a new thing.
This will be a new group consisting of like-minded individuals – guys or gals
who want to play some tunes, have some fun, and maybe earn some beer money.
The goal is to play locally once every few weeks or so. No pressure, no touring, no looking for record deals,
playing a mix of original tunes and covers (all kinds of stuff). I have a full-time job and a family so understand
that they are my priority. This is something that I want to do for fun because I miss playing music.
This is in NO WAY a serious effort. I’ve been there, done that, and have the t-shirts to prove it.
I play and write high-energy, simple rock n roll, mixed with elements of pop, punk, and metal.
The group consists of myself on bass and lead vocal and a drummer with backing vocal so we're looking for a
guitar player. If you want to join in on backing vocal, too, that's great; if not, no prob. Hell if you want to
take the lead on a cover song, have at it! The most important thing I'm looking for is an attitude that's all about fun
If you don't have a good sense of humor and are too uptight about playing the "right" kind of music, it won't work.
Your energy and attitude are more important than your fucking solos.
Age, race, gender, height, weight, religion, and sexual orientation are unimportant. Just be ready to rock!!
Of course, band sluts are welcome!!
I figure we can start out with a weekly or bi-weekly practice session for a couple of months until we’re gig-ready
and then get together every couple of weeks or so (depending on everyone’s schedule) to stay fresh and
have some fun.
If this sounds good so far, here are a couple of demo tunes that we recently tracked. They're pretty rough as we did
them in a few hours but they should give you a good idea of what you're facing. There's also an older track from my
previous band that we'll be doing, too. It's called "Wagon".
(You may have to use Windows Media Player to hear them)
Black Cat
Twilight
Wagon
